Becoming proficient in my public speaking was the greatest personal and business investment I ever made – my goal is to make that the same for other Directors, Senior Executives and Leaders. As your Public Speaking Trainer and Coach, I will give you the tools and techniques you need to become a powerful speaker.
Public speaking is a crucial business skill. Being confident in your ability to get the message across is vital whatever the size of the audience. Whether you are chairing a board meeting, speaking to staff or delivering a conference presentation, you need to engage the room.
I’m a great believer in leading from the front. Communication is so important for leaders, especially public speaking, and I have met so many Directors who dread doing this.

As The Speaking Director, I offer a unique mix of experience. With 40 years of experience in industry – 33 years of which have been in senior management, and 23 years as a Company Director – and 26 years as a Public Speaker and Storyteller. I know what it is to be a Director and to lead people, and I know what it is to be a Public Speaker and have to speak in public.
I haven’t always been this confident in Public Speaking though. In my courses I share with you the tips and techniques that have helped me to master this and become a better speaker and leader.
Why the Speaking Director?
Perhaps you have tried Public Speaking Courses before, or you have an idea of what’s involved. I like to do things differently. That could be the punk rock attitude in me!
I’m an experienced and successful Director who loves wearing well-cut suits – I’m not an anarchist! – but I focus on some of the qualities I remember from the 1970s punk rock movement. In this instance, authenticity and the DIY philosophy of putting yourself out there without worrying about being perfect – that can come later.
On my Public Speaking Courses you learn over time in a supportive environment. I will motivate you to give it a go and free yourself from perfection. The result – you will become the best Public Speaker you can be. You will gain self-confidence and bring some of yourself into your speaking without diluting your company message.

Short Public Speaking Courses can be beneficial, but to grow and develop as a speaker you need more time. With The Speaking Director, there are no shortcuts – you will learn over 4, 8 or 12 weeks in-house, giving you time to prepare properly and not be rushed.

You will have the opportunity to meet up in advance to discuss your needs and what you want to achieve from the course – however, you might want me just to go straight in.

And it doesn’t end with the course. You will have the option of refresher sessions to maintain and enhance your public speaking skills. The key to success is practice. Individual Directors can also join the Directors’ Speaking Club where they can further develop their public speaking skills and get opportunities to speak.
